Singapore post-hardcore alternative group CARACAL re-releases their debut full-length 'BEAR. SHARK. WOLF.' on KittyWu Records. Sheathed in entirely new art and packaging, this second edition comes with 2 additional tracks re-recorded at Snakeweed Studios and mastered with João Carvalho of João Carvalho Mastering (Sloan, Buck 65, The Weakerthans, Death From Above 1979).
'BEAR. SHARK. WOLF.' is the result of CARACAL’s desire to create honest and inuential music, backed up with strong rock sensibilities and intensely personal lyrics. Creatively inspired by eclectic artistes such as Incubus, Foo Fighters, rice, Emery and Norma Jean, 'BEAR. SHARK. WOLF.' is record of a band captured in its genuinely raw and youthful stage, ready and willing to risk everything regardless of what critics might say.
"After collaborating with our friends from other bands on our songs
– e Strain and Charalatan – for our intense live show at Baybeats 2011, we felt it was such a waste that it couldn't be relived again. We decided to re-record and sonically re-create the same mayhem, but of course in a more controlled environment. Moreover, collaborating with friends is always interesting and fun."
- Gabriel De Souza
Tracks 13 & 14 previously unreleased and not on the first edition of
‘BEAR. SHARK. WOLF.’.
Track 13 features Melvin Ong of Ruins And Remains.
Track 14 features Mark John Hariman (Inch Chua & e Metric System)
on acoustic guitar and Christopher Yong Lin on trumpets.
lyrics
So cut out your pride, don’t let this slide. You feel it don’t you, building up inside. Well they dont know what it’s like, to be at the end of this. I swear it’s not alright. It’s not alright. Just take it back, just take it all back now. Or you’ll be wishing you were somewhere else. What does a man gotta do to find some. Some peace and quiet around here. Yea you don’t know what it’s like on the other side. Yea when I lose control. Yea I like it. Well I like it. Yea I like it when I lose control. I’ll watch my temper until you get here. No you just wait and see, there is no place for peace. What do you want little man, you’re making me angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry. That is because I don’t want to know you, what do you want little man. Now what do you have to say for half the things you’ve done, you know you’d like to be somebody else you know. Calm down son, you’ll hurt yourself. Fall from grace, I’m not completely wrong, you’re not completely right. Hold me now, just hold me now. You can’t bring me down, you won’t bring me down. You can’t take back what you gave to me again.
